Introduction and acceptance

These terms govern your use of focusadvice.tech (the "site") and the free, in-browser tools we make available on it (collectively, the "Day-pass" tools). By using the site you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, please don't use the site.

The site is operated by Focus Business Solutions Limited ("Focus", "we", "us"), a company registered in England & Wales. Our privacy policy describes how we handle personal information; it forms part of these terms.

Not advice — our regulatory position

Focus Business Solutions Limited is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and is not in the business of providing financial advice to consumers.

The tools available on this site, and any output they produce, are illustrative and educational only. They are designed to support FCA-authorised firms in their conversations with clients — they are not a substitute for regulated financial advice and must not be relied on as such.

If you are a member of the public considering a financial decision, please speak to an FCA-authorised adviser before acting on anything you read or calculate here.

Acceptable use

You may use the site for reasonable, ordinary use — reading our content, running our tools, getting in touch. You may not:

• Scrape, harvest or extract content at scale, or use automated tooling against the site beyond ordinary browser use
• Reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source of any tool
• Bypass any access control, rate limit or security feature
• Re-publish, re-sell or pass off tools, content or outputs as your own product or service (Member and Patron customers have separate rights — see below)
• Use the site or the tools in connection with anything unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent or harmful

We may rate-limit, throttle or block access without notice if we reasonably believe the site is being used in breach of these terms.

Intellectual property

The tools, methodology, code, designs, copy, illustrations and any other materials on the site are owned by Focus (or licensed to us). Day-pass use of the site grants you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to view content and interact with the tools in your browser. No other rights are granted.

You may share links to public pages on the site and quote short extracts with attribution. Anything more — embedding tools on your own site, white-labelling, using tool screenshots in marketing materials — requires a Member or Patron agreement (see below).

Member & Patron commercial terms

If you embed Focus tools under your own brand (the Member tier) or commission bespoke configurations or custom builds (the Patron tier), the commercial relationship is governed by a separate master services agreement that we'll send you when we set up the contract. That agreement covers things this public page cannot reasonably set out in advance — service levels, fees, term, termination, support scope, change control, data-processing terms where Focus acts as a processor, and any bespoke usage rights.

For paid Member and Patron customers, the master services agreement takes precedence over these public terms in the event of any conflict.

Limitation of liability

The site and the Day-pass tools are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the site or any tool will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that outputs are accurate, complete or fit for any particular purpose. Calculation outputs depend on the assumptions you input; small input changes can produce materially different results.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Focus will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or for any decision a user, regulated firm or consumer makes on the basis of anything seen or calculated on the site.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Links to other sites

The site contains links to third-party sites. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, security or privacy practices. A link from us is not an endorsement.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time — for example, when we add or change a service, or when the law changes. The version published on this page is the version that applies. Material changes will be highlighted on the page. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms, and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the law of England & Wales. The courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction in connection with any dispute, except that we may bring proceedings to enforce these terms in any jurisdiction where you are based.
