Press Release

Focus Advice Technology appoints industry-renowned Jason Reading-Green as Business Growth Lead, signalling a major push into the mainstream advice sector.

Move underlines Focus's ongoing investment in bringing three decades of enterprise-grade innovation to a new generation of advice firms.

1 September 2026: Focus Advice Technology ("Focus"), the award-winning advice technology provider, today announced the appointment of Jason Reading-Green as Business Growth Lead. In a newly created, client-facing role, Jason will lead Focus's push to bring its technology to a wider market, building on more than 30 years of enterprise success to accelerate growth among mainstream advice firms.

Jason joins Focus after 15 years at FTRC, most recently as Chief Commercial Officer, where he became one of the most recognised and trusted names in UK financial planning technology.

He has led numerous initiatives with technology suppliers and is a prominent figure at the annual Empowering Advice Through Technology (EATT) event, giving him deep insight into the advice tech market. Sitting between advisers and technology suppliers, he has built a career translating between the two: guiding advisers toward the right technology to solve their operational challenges, while working with vendors to ensure they truly understand what advisers need to run an efficient business and build services that add genuine value.

He began his career as a paraplanner, giving him direct experience in financial planning before moving into a commercial leadership role at FTRC, which grounded him in a deep, practical understanding of how IFAs actually work and the technology they rely on day-to-day. Through FTRC's technology reviews, comparisons and industry forums, Jason worked closely with advice firms across the market and built an unmatched view of how the wider advice technology landscape compares.

The appointment is the latest sign of Focus's consistent investment in the advice technology space. Founded in 1993, Focus has spent more than three decades building deep expertise in financial advice, and its latest API-first, Azure-native platform already underpins advice journeys for major names including NFU Mutual, Skipton and Aberdeen. Jason's arrival marks a deliberate step change in ambition: having proven its technology at enterprise scale, Focus is now investing in the people and go-to-market capability needed to bring that same platform to the wider advice firms.

Having spent years assessing every major technology and platform in the market, Jason's decision to join Focus carries particular weight. He cites the calibre of the people, the scale of the opportunity, and a genuinely ambitious vision for where advice technology is heading as the deciding factors, along with a capability he says he has not seen matched anywhere else in the market.

Jason Reading Green, Business Growth Lead at Focus, said:

_"I started my career as a paraplanner, and I've spent every year since then trying to understand what actually makes advice firms work better. Fifteen years at FTRC gave me a rare, granular view of every component, system and supplier in this ever-evolving advice tech market - so I don't say this lightly: what Focus has is different.
Their modular workflow and true API-first architecture put them in a strong position against firms still carrying legacy baggage and dated, complex systems. But it's the rules-driven, fully explainable approach to portfolio switching that really sets the Advice Engine apart from anything else I've seen in the market.
That's what convinced me - not just the technology, but the ambition and the people behind it. I've watched this industry from the outside for a long time, and I'm genuinely excited to help bring Focus to a market I believe is ready for it."_

Dave Upton, CEO of Focus, said:
_“Jason is one of the most respected figures in advice technology, and the fact that someone who has spent 15 years scrutinising this market from every angle has chosen to join Focus speaks for itself.
We've spent three decades proving what our platform can do at enterprise scale, and now we're investing in growth, people, and the ambition to bring it to many more firms. Jason is exactly the right person to lead that, and this is just the beginning of what's to come.”
Jason's appointment comes as Focus continues to invest as part of its growth strategy, and the company says more announcements on its expansion into the wider market are expected in the coming months."_
